Season four of The Walking Dead broke rating records. Today AMC has debuted a new poster for it's upcoming season 5.

The Walking Dead season finale is going to be "bloody and deadly"- news

AMC's The Walking Dead wraps its fourth season Sunday with an episode that promises to pack a wallop, judging by the zombie drama's three previous finales.
A refresher: Season one featured the suicide/bombing at the CDC after Rick (Andrew Lincoln) learned from Jenner that everyone was infected; season two featured the start of the "Ricktatorship" and first appearance of Michonne (Danai Gurira); and last season ended with Andrea's shocking death. 

So how deadly and bloody will this weekend's season-four finale be? The Hollywood Reporter quizzed executive producers Scott M. Gimple and Robert Kirkman -- as well as a few castmembers -- to find out. Of course, there's always the off chance that it ends with a hopeful message.

Kirkman, who created the comics the AMC zombie drama is based on, warned: "I would expect a very high level of deadliness. Our season finale is not going to disappoint anyone; we've got some big stuff planned."

Gimple, who has taken a "remix" approach to the comics and a nuanced approach to the series as showrunner this season, says: "It's pretty deadly. There will be some very difficult, shaking moments for these characters. Everything they know is shaken."
Michael Cudlitz, who boarded the show this year as Army guy with a mission and comics favorite Abraham, cut right to the chase: "The season finale is pretty damn bloody. It's bloody and deadly."

Norman Reedus, whose Daryl has been accepted into the "Claimers" group after Beth's abduction, warns that the episode is "insane -- it's f---ing nuts!"

Lauren Cohan, whose Maggie suffered the loss of her father in season four's midseason finale and was reunited with her husband, Glenn (Steven Yeun), in the penultimate episode, hopes the gang -- the first to arrive at sanctuary Terminus -- catches a bit of a breather, though she isn't expecting it. "Can't these guys get a break?! It's The Walking Dead! There are worse threats than death."
Melissa McBride, who has had to kill Karen and David in the first half and Lizzie and her sister, Mika, in the back half, warns the finale may compare to the Governor's brutal attack on the prison. "All hell breaks loose! Shots are fired!"
Meanwhile, exec producer Greg Nicotero describes the finale as the "perfect culmination" of all the Easter eggs that have been planted all season long. "Every beat and moment leads somewhere and pays off," he says. "We spent a lot of time crafting those bits and pieces. Seeing where the season goes and how it ends -- the last line in the episode gave me chills when I first read it -- I think people are going to love it. People are going to feel like they went on an amazing journey and all we've done is open a new door to a new journey. The threat level is high. It's suspenseful, thrilling and exciting."

The Walking Dead season finale airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on AMC.

From the people who brought you The Walking Dead, Image Comics 'Sheltered' is heading to the big screen

Circle of Confusion, the production company behind AMC's hit series "The Walking Dead," has plans to adapt another Image Comics series, this time aiming for the big screen. The Hollywood Reporter today brings word that Ed Brisson and Johnnie Christmas' recently-launched Sheltered is set for adaptation into a screenplay by Jesse Peyronel (Siren), who also has plans to direct.

Sheltered is officially described as follows:

A pre-apocalyptic tale of survival at any cost. The men and women of Safe Haven have been preparing for any-and-all end of world scenarios for years. However, their bunkers, weapons and training can't save them from the one threat they never could have expected: Their own children.

Circle of Confusion is producing the adaptation, targeting a late 2014 production

Andrew Lincoln Talks Back 8 Episodes of The Walking Dead Season 4

News out of Etertainment weekly.

Following the explosive mid-season finale for "The Walking Dead," the characters in the series found themselves separated and alone, and it seems things aren't going to get better very quickly. Speaking with EW, star Andrew Lincoln spoke about the remaining 8 episodes in the season which he says has some of his favorite episodes in the series.

"I’m really excited about the back 8 episodes. I think there’s a different tone to the back 8, and I think you’re going to see a lot of characters that you haven’t seen under the microscope as much all have their chance to shine. And people are putting in some tremendous performances. I think there were three scripts that were some of my favorite that I’ve ever done in the back 8. But it’s different, and that’s what’s so admirable about it with Scott Gimple’s vision. It’s a very different tone for the show and I think you learn a lot. It’s very character driven, very soulful — much more reminiscent of the first season, I think, just because they’re all out and alone and they’re much more vulnerable. And also because they’re apart from each other you realize that without each other their family is dying. It’s almost like vignettes; it’s like character studies in all of the characters. The underpinning of all of this is the great hope they can find each other again."

Without giving too much away, Lincoln also says that the separation of the characters will lead to some interesting pairings.

"It’s not only a change of pace, but what it does is it rewards the audience that perhaps doesn’t know about certain characters’ backstories and histories. There are some very witty pairings is what I will say. Really, really witty."

Sons of Anarchy Season 6 Finale is the Most-Watched episode ever

FX's drama series "Sons of Anarchy" ended its 6th season posting the season's second-highest rated episode, and the most-watched finale in the history of the show.

 "A Mother’s Work," was watched by 5.2 million Total Viewers and 3.5 million Adults 18-49, both high marks for a finale in the show's history. Combined with the encore telecast, 6.4 million Total Viewers & 4.3 Adults 18-49 watched the finale last night.

The season 6 finale was the second highest-rated telecast ever in the history of the series in Adults 18-49, behind only the season 6 premiere episode (9/10/13), which garnered 3.9 million Adults 18-49 and was the highest-rated telecast ever in the history of FX

The finale was the #1 ranked show in cable for the night across all 18-49, 18-34 and 25-54 demos as well as Total Viewers.
The 6th season has averaged 7.3 million Total Viewers, making it the highest-rated season ever. In Adults 18-49, the show has averaged 5.0 million Total Viewers, making it the #3 scripted drama in basic cable behind "The Walking Dead" and "Breaking Bad" this calendar year

The Walking Dead insider spoiler

Robert Kirkman, the man behind The Walking Dead is never one to leak anything or give the faintest insight on what may be coming next with the series. However, thanks to an insider at TV Guide, who was able to pull some teeth away from series creator Robert Kirkman for some information, we now have confirmation that Carol  will return to the show before season end's.  No other details or specifics were discussed but Carol is returning soon...at least before the fourth season wraps up the spring.

The Walking Dead ; Jaw-dropping midseason finale..teaser

Chad Coleman (Tyrese) called into Entertainment Weekly Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105) to warn  viewers to “fasten their seat belts” for an episode he promises is “gut-wrenching, epic, jaw-dropping, all of the above.” .
Coleman then went on to talk about his character Tyrese; “I know everybody was waiting for Tyreese to break out and that was Tyreese in full bloom,”, “It was a big adrenaline rush, man. It was crazy and I was exhausted afterward.” He goes on to talk about Tyrese sometimes over-compassion for others: “I think that’s what it is, finding that balance between what the rules of engagement are in a post-apocalyptic world. Can you really afford to have a heart that big? And he’s finding out. He’s learning. You’ve got to know the landscape. You got to play by certain rules. It’s all part of a maturation process for Tyreese, to make him a better man and a better leader. I appreciate his nobility, but there are just things that everybody has to learn hard and fast and I think he’s in the middle of his learning curve right now.”

The Walking Dead new Secret Season 4 Role

According to The Hollywood Reporter, one new survivor  is about to join the party for season 4 of "The Walking Dead" , Actor Andrew J. West ("Greek") has signed on and will be credited as a "guest star" for the second half of season 4 with an option to become a series regular in season 5.
Details are being kept under wraps about West's role, but it is said that his character is not directly from the source material.

The Walking Dead's Daryl cast in The Crow

If you are a fan of The Walking Dead, you know Norman Reedus as major ass kicker, sometime vigilante hero Daryl Dixon
News is that Reedus is auditioning for a role in the reboot of the upcoming The Crow film.
No word yet on the role, but the title character in the film already has Luke Evans cast as The Crow.
No set release date yet for upcoming film but production looks to begin spring 2014.

The Walking Dead, Major Teaser for this coming Sunday's episode

Somehow MTV got its hands on a teaser image showing The Governor sitting down next to what appears to be a tank.  Next week's episode Titled "Dead Weight," is described as follows:

"Something new unfolds at a camp outside the prison, and the addition of new members may threaten peace."

We will have to wait and see; first of all, where the heck did he get his hands on the tank? and second, what's he planning on doing with this (these?) tanks.

Michonne should just find and stalk The Governor and then slice him in half..................Just a thought.

Every Sunday night you can catch The Walking Dead on AMC or an NFL Game on at around  8:30 ET.
On any other Sunday, the ratings score is pretty even between Sunday night football and The Walking Dead.

Roughly 10+ million viewers on both ends of the isle, however tonight, 2 extremely popular teams are playing and one of the matchups has the undefeated  (9-0)Kansa City Chiefs playing the (8-1) Peyton Manning led Denver Broncos.
What The Walking Dead has going for itself is the cliffhanger on teasing us with a quick glimpse of The Governor....however is The Governor's reappearance in this weeks The Walking Dead enough?

Can The Walking Dead pull in more viewers tonight facing such a tough matchup... unfortunately my money is on the NFL Sunday night football folks.
You can DVR The Walking Dead and that's okay, but never ever ever should anyone have to  DVR a live sporting event.

AMC's The Walking Dead team to develop "Preacher" series

Rumors of a "Preacher" series coming to TV persist, the project had been abandoned by HBO, but now seems to have been picked up by AMC,
Considering the them of Preacher and AMC's current lineup, Preacher would be a perfect fit over at AMC. Rumors are that the people behind the hit show are interested in working and developing a Preacher series.
For those of you who may not know, "Preacher" is a comic book with a huge cult following and it tells the story of   a preacher from a small Texas town of Annville. The  Preacher is Jesse Custer an average Joe, living an average life until one day he was accidentally possessed by a supernatural creature named Genesis in an incident which killed his entire congregation and destroyed his church.
For now, its a huge rumor, and I will keep updating the story as things unravel.

The Walking Dead PREQUEL details from AMC

I love the AMC show and the Image Comics of The Walking Dead...both for different reasons,
So this news of AMC developing a "companion" series to "The Walking Dead."

According to TVLine, the new series "will be a prequel of sorts, one that would chronicle the early days of the epidemic and the effort to contain it.".

Robert Kirkman, the man behind The Walking Dead,  told IGN that the new series would be set in a different location & would feature completely different assemble of survivors. "It definitely won't be set in Georgia, It's important to us that this show exists on its own. The spin-off has to be a show worthy of existing, or else we've all sold out."

Kirkman, will be one of the executive producers and AMC Studios will once again be producing the series.. This prequel/companion series has a target date of sometime 2015.
  

The Walking Dead upcoming episode Preview

If you haven't seen last weeks episode stop reading now and move along.
Chances are, if you are a fan of The Walking Dead  then you probably noticed last weeks episode had a surprise guest who appeared in the last few seconds of the show. David Morrisey aka The Governor is back, seemingly spying on officer Rick and crew. What's he up to?  Well AMC is providing a short description of the upcoming episode:
