Overdue Reviews: Identity Thief, Oz the great and the powerful

I've been on a movie review hiatus and quite frankly, with so little quality screening in theaters, there's really nothing much to talk about.

Films such as the potentially decent but incredibly dull comedy "Identity Thief" is just one of the examples of highly promoted and under delivering films to have come out in the past few months. 4/10 <-- This is rewarding the effort rather than the content

Oz The Great and the Powerful was incredibly lame and bland, relying heavily on uninspired CGI.
With a dumbed down script and lack of any originality, the potential to make this story good died in the hands of an uncreative and maybe uninspired director- Sam Raimi (famous for the garbage that was the Spider Man films and also famous for the amazing Evil Dead series). Neither a Bruce Campbell appearance or flying monkeys could save this Disney product. 2/10 ( 1 point given for Bruce Campbell and 1 point for the Flying Monkey)

Oh and if you're thinking of renting, purchasing the DVD or seeing any of these in theaters, please save your hard earned money(assuming you work and not leaching off my taxes) and buy yourself a pack of Winchester's.
