News coming out of Sony.Marvel and Superherohype
Sony Pictures confirmed previous rumors today that they will be developing spin-offs based off of their popular Spider-Man franchise, with Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon, and Drew Goddard to collaborate on overseeing the developing story over several films that will be produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach.
The five writers, along with the two producers and Marc Webb, have formed a franchise brain trust to expand the universe for the brand and to develop a continuous tone and thread throughout the films. Under the deals, the studio announced that Kurtzman & Orci & Pinkner are writing the screenplay for The Amazing Spider-Man 3, which the studio hopes Webb will return to direct. That film will go into production next fall for release on June 10, 2016. In addition, the team will build on the cinematic foundation laid by Webb, Arad, and Tolmach in the first two movies. They will expand the franchise with Kurtzman & Orci & Solomon writing the screenplay for Venom, which Kurtzman will direct. Goddard, then, will write with an eye to direct, The Sinister Six, focusing on the villains in the franchise. Hannah Minghella and Rachel O’Connor will oversee the development and production of these films for the studio.

The Amazing Spider-Man's Chris Cooper talks Sinister Six villains
From an MTV interview with Chris Cooper When asked about the Sinister Six and its potential as the future direction of the series, Cooper said "They (the studio) sent me some material," he said. "But they said also that this Spider-Man is its own Spider-Man. We're just kind of starting from the beginning."
At this point, the formation of the Sinister Six in future "Amazing Spider-Man" movies seems all but confirmed. When MTV News spoke with Paul Giamatti at the Toronto International Film Festival, he intimated that's where things appeared to be headed."And I believe there's a lot of stage-setting for the next film. There are several villains in this movie, and some of them are more foreground and important. Jamie Foxx is and stuff. A couple of us are more hanging around the background because I think there will be a bigger deal," he said. "I don't actually know, but that seems to be what they're doing. I'm not an idiot either, but I can't claim hard and fast knowledge of this. I won't. I can't because I don't actually know, but you and I can speculate."

There are a number of scripts in the works”In a separate statement Amy Pascal, Sony Pictures Co Chairman told investors during a presentation that the studio is planning spin-off films for supporting character of its “Spider-Man” franchise.
“We are going to access Marvel’s full world of Spider-Man characters, so be on the lookout for new heroes and villains,”
Could this be...a Venom film...Sinister 6...or one of my all time favorites Carnage?
