Kevin Smith's crazy offbeat horror film 'Tusk' finds a distributer

From Coming Soon

A24 and Demarest Films have teamed up on Kevin Smith’s latest film,Tusk, and have plans to bring the original, offbeat horror project to theaters in the third quarter of 2014.

Tusk follows Wallace (Justin Long), a journalist on a mission. He finds the story of a lifetime in Mr. Howe (Michael Parks), a worldwide adventurer with amazing tales and a curious penchant for walruses.

Said A24, “We had the privilege of visiting Kevin on the 'Tusk' set and seeing some of his early footage. We can say with certainty that this movie will blow people’s minds. Truly one you’ll have to see to believe.”

"I'm as happy as the day Miramax bought 'Clerks' back in '94!" says Smith. "We're so lucky A24 fell in love with our walrus picture and jumped in the pool with us. I was a big fan of how they released 'The Bling Ring' and 'Spring Breakers,' so I was praying 'TUSK' would take root there. If anyone knows how to bring this flick to the masses, it's them!"

Demarest's Sam Englebardt added, “We're thrilled that A24 has joined us in backing Kevin's wild, deviant vision. 'Tusk' will be a horror movie for the ages and we couldn't imagine a better partner in bringing it to the world."

Tusk, starring Justin Long, Michael Parks, Genesis Rodriguez and Haley Joel Osment, was born out of one of Kevin Smith's SModcasts. Currently in production, the modern-day monster movie was also written by Smith. Sam Englebardt, David Greathouse and Shannon McIntosh are producing.

Kevin Smith Teases his upcoming film TUSK ...the Man-Walrus hybrid (what the hey?)

Kevin Smith is teasing his upcoming project horror-film TUSK via Twitter

Smith twitted , "Is man, indeed, a walrus at heart?" We wrap TUSK this Friday! Will be tough to leave NC as I'm so in love with my Charlotte crew and this wacky flick we're making!"

The movie stars Justin Long, Michael Parks, Haley Joel Osment and Genesis Rodriguez

A brief synopsis of the film describes it as follows:  A man who was once lost at sea with a walrus, when the man returns home, he puts out an ad for a roommate. The only thing this man asks is that his roommate wear a walrus costume and act only like the animal.

Daredevil TV Series planned by Netflix and Marvel Studios

Drew Goddard, writer of the Cabin in The Woods, has signed on to write for the upcoming Netflix series Daredevil: The Man Without Fear.
Despite the negative reviews and reception of the Daredevil film, my hopes are high that the series will be great.
According to Netflix, 13 episodes have been ordered
The Daredevil comics have always been a fan favorite...unlike the big screen adaption.
Oddly enough, the film was actually a commercial success, nearly grossing 3 times its budget of  $78million.
Kevin Smith, had previously shown interest in either writing or directing a new Daredevil film.......could we see Smith possibly directing a few of these new Netflix episodes?
