Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy trailer... will apparently be released tomorrow night !




USA Today is reporting that the first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy will premiere on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday night – with an introduction by star Chris Pratt – before being released in theaters on Friday.
The film’s plot will involve the Guardians meeting each other in a space prison and breaking out together. They then visit Knowhere and the Collector, and are chased by Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) who are after an orb in Star-Lord’s possession.
“There’s a whole lot to this movie — it’s not a stage play,” Pratt says. “You couldn’t make Guardians of the Galaxy the play and put it on Broadway. It really wouldn’t work.”
Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters August 1, 2014.

The Lego Movie Review

From the actual toys, to the video game to multiple made for TV movies, the Lego brand has won the hearts and minds of billions for over 60 years.
But somehow, movie studios have been able to mangle and ruin many toy franchises; Battleship, Smurfs, Dungeons and Dragons, Masters of the Universe (He-Man) , the list is long.
The Lego Movie  could have fallen into that same trap...but....it did not, far from it, The Lego Movie was a lot of fun
It had an extremely original visual concept blended a mix of visuals uncommon to typical animation films, a blend of lifelike toy realism, computer animation and...real life actors.
The story is interesting but almost plays a secondary role to the clever and fun visual effects..
There are plenty of jokes for kids and adults of all ages and a few jokes that are clearly adult aimed which will probably go over most kids heads.

A story of good vs. evil with a few fun twists, where the hero is a simple generic Lego character named Emmett who needs to fight off the evil Lord Business who forces Lego conformity ( no mixing of different Lego colors or themes)  in the world which Emmet lives in.

While we all knew Bradley Cooper was voicing Rocket Raccoon, I’ve been wondering what type of voice and accent he’d use for the role.  Earlier today, at the press junket for David O. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” has wrapped filming and star Chris Pratt is revealing details to Access Hollywood about fan-favorite character Rocket Raccoon, who is voiced by Bradley Cooper.

Many fans have wondered how the genetically engineered critter – with a love of explosives and weapons – will work on the big screen. Chris, who plays Peter Quill/Star-Lord, told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman not to expect a cartoon version of the comic book character.

“You think it’s a cartoon character, but it’s not, it’s a very real creature,” the actor said at the “Parks and Recreation” 100th Episode Celebration on Wednesday.

 

”[Rocket Raccoon has been] tortured his whole life and no one else likes him, so he’s lonely and he’s angry and it’s like, [there are] all these elements [to the character],” he continued. “You sort of forget about that, you wouldn’t think about, [and] hopefully will come to life. I think it will and that’s why they hired a really good actor to do the role.”

Adding, “I could not be more excited that Bradley Cooper is voicing Rocket Raccoon, it’s a great character. It’s probably the best character in the movie, just because it’s not what you would expect.”

Chris also dished on his “Guardians” body transformation that he debuted in JulyThe 34-year-old joked that his superhero six pack is fading a bit.

 

“I used to have a six pack, I have a one pack now,” he said, explaining that he’s not that concerned about maintaining his Marvel-approved abs.

“I don’t want to go crazy and be someone who’s primary focus in life is fitness, life is too short to spend it always trying to work out,” he said. “But at the same time, I want balance… I want to be somewhere in between being super fat and being not super fat and so, just kind of fat, I guess.”

“Guardians of the Galaxy” is slated to blast into theaters on August 1, 2014.

Spike Jonze new film 'HER' stars Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Wilde, Rooney Mara news and clip

I have always been a huge fan of both Joaquin Phoenix and Spike Jonze and when I started reading about Jones' upcoming film 'HER' I first thought it was just rip-off of S1mone (starring Al Pacino) but reading through more of the synopsis and story got  more interested in the concept, because after al Spike Jones is a man of crazy concepts .
The trailer is interested and hopefully get some people to go a watch it in theaters.

I may blog about a lot of blockbuster films, but this movie is something I rather sit down and watch over most major studio productions.

The plot is as follow:
Theodore Twombly (Joaquin Phoenix) is a complex, soulful man who makes his living writing touching, personal letters for other people. Heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, he becomes intrigued with a new, advanced operating system, which promises to be an intuitive entity in its own right, individual to each user. Upon initiating it, he is delighted to meet "Samantha" (Scarlett Johansson), a bright, female voice, who is insightful, sensitive and surprisingly funny. As her needs and desires grow, in tandem with his own, their friendship deepens into an eventual love for each other

Jurassic Park, Jurassic World story update

Besides the fact that Universal Pictures will release Jurassic World in 3D on June 12, 2015, we don't know much about what to expect. Rumors have surfaced that the film may be about the park some time later as it is officially open to the public, but the studio has not confirmed that. Fans have also wondered if the movie will serve as a reboot of the franchise. Director Colin Trevorrow has now addressed those worries on Twitter.

"Reboot is a strong word," he said. "This is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park."

If it is set 22 years after the first film, it could definitely mean the theme park rumors are accurate.

Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson and Irrfan Khan will star in the film. Steven Spielberg returns to produce. Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure from a draft of the screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley join the team as fellow producers.

Here is what Chris had to say
"Just the fact that he was part of the Marvel brand was really exciting,” says Pratt, who reveals he was in, hero unseen. “I was signed up to do the movie before I was even allowed to read a script, so it wasn't like something about this particular character that got me to do it. The fact that it was a Marvel movie is what got me to do it.”
“Granted, once I did read it there were so many things about the character that I love, and one thing is that he's very much a kid at heart,” “He's like a man-child. And I like the idea that he's got a false sense of bravado. Deep down inside he's lonely and desperate. But on the outside he walks around like he's big and tough, and I don't think he does a great job of convincing everybody that he's not just a scared little child.”

I can't say I ever was a huge fan of the series, but I do own a few copies...and the universe in Guardians is really gigantic, and maybe I simply got lost in it gargantuan-ess and ..literally lost interest quickly, but then again I was 10 years old and had very little attention span for such an epic storyline. I will be given this film a chance, if not for the story, just for it's insane cast of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Bradley Cooper

This is one Marvel franchise which  is complex enough to read, the thought of it coming to the big screen is concerning. Guardians of the Galaxy may be the most ambitious Marvel project to date. It has nearly as many characters as their are Dwarves in The Hobbit.
Starring a smorgasbord of actors: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. 
In case you are unfamiliar with Guardians of The Galaxy, one of these actors will be playing a fighting Raccoon
Guardians of The Galaxy could be fantastic...however, such ambition with such an odd cast, it is looking more like a potential disaster. I'm rooting for success but my optimism is low.
