Catfish and two-time Paranormal Activity franchise helmers Henry Joost and Ariel Shulman are getting ready to step outside "found" footage for an adaptation of Jeanne Ryan's 2012 novel Nerve. The Hollywood Reporter has the news, bringing word that the pair will work from a screenplay by Jessica Sharzer ("American Horror Story").
The film version of Nerve will be produced by Allison Shearmur.

New Paranormal Activity; The Marked Ones trailer

The original Paranormal Activity was fantastic...any subsequent release never quite did it for me, and the franchise seems to be in a continuous decline.
Maybe this upcoming release can turn things around for the series
