Review on: Trick R' Treat
Trick R Treat is a traditional horror flick, along the lines of a tamer and more intelligent Creepshow.
This film is an anthology of 4 stories which all eventually, cleverly , tie in to one another.
Even if you do not enjoy horror or scary films, this movie is extremely fun and can be appreciated by a larger audience who may not usually give the genre a chance. There are a few creepy spooks, and some very minimal gore, but in reality, you end up liking this film because of how cool each of the stories are. I may not have put this is my top horror movies list, but it is still a classic horror film. The reason for Trick R Treat not being in my list is simple- not scary enough. It is highly entertaining and a movie that I can watch over and over again. Its a horror film even haters can enjoy. It has received critical acclaim at many movie festivals and is certified fresh at Rotten Tomatoes, I'm given this a solid 8/10
If you enjoy this movie, rejoice because Trick R Treat 2 has been announced this past week.

New releases to get excited about
What to expect from early Q1 movie releases (I apologize for the corporate lingo).
Normally January is the hangover month of the movie industry.
After a tsunami of December blockbusters, expectations are lessened for films released fresh in the new year.
Here's a short list of what is being released.
I will skip over discussing ill-timed (it isn't hallow e'en yet) and unnecessary releases such as Chainsaw Massacre 3D... I love me some slasher film but not when I'm still replaying Peanuts Christmas for my 4 year old.
Films I'm excited about are:
All Superheroes must die
Gangster Squad &
Mama
Films that might get some people going to theaters are
Broken City &
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunter
January 4
- All Superheroes Must Die (limited)
- Texas Chainsaw 3D
January 11
- A Haunted House
- Gangster Squad
January 18
- Broken City
- The Last Stand - Mama
January 25
- Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (3D/2D theaters and
IMAX)
- John Dies at the End (limited)
