Eccentric director Terry Gilliam to Start Filming Don Quixote in September

Terry Gilliam in interviews last November told us that his next project following would be his long-awaited Miguel de Cervantes adaptation The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.

"I'm going to try to do 'Don Quixote' again," Gilliam said then. "I think this is the seventh time. Lucky seven, maybe. We'll see if it happens. This is kind of my default position, going back to that. I actually just want to make it and get rid of it. Get it out of my life."

Production on Gilliam's "Don Quixote" actually began in 2000 with Jean Rochefort as Quixote and Johnny Depp in the role of Sancho Panza. Unfortunately, the shoot met with dilemma after dilemma and was never finished, although the behind-the-scenes of the troubled production did end up becoming a feature-length documentary, Lost in La Mancha, in 2002.

Now, Gilliam has revealed to Empire that filming is expected to start on September 29 on the Canary Islands

He has also brought on Spanish producer Adrian Guerra (Buried, Red Lights, Grand Piano). "He's really smart, loves movies," said Gilliam. "He's young enough to still love movies. But we've still got to cast it and get the money but other than that, that's the deal."

He added that they've rewritten the film numerous times for new casts. "We keep rewriting the script each time, too, so it's a slightly different film each time. It's the same film but the details change. Maybe it's better, it's certainly slightly smaller to fit into the new clothing we wear. Which are cheap clothes these days."

Gilliam recently shared this concept art from the film as well on his Facebook page.

Johnny Depp first images from Transcendence

Entertainment Weekly has released the first pics from Wally Pfister's 'Transcendence' opening in theaters and IMAX on April 18 2014

Pfister's  Transcendence is actually his directorial debut and he has a lot to live up to as he was always the person best known for his cinematography in Christopher Nolan films.

Transcendence stars Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany, Rebecca Hall, Kate Mara, Morgan Freeman
Synopsis as follow:
Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp) is the foremost researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence, working to create a sentient machine that combines the collective intelligence of everything ever known with the full range of human emotions. His highly controversial experiments have made him famous, but they have also made him the prime target of anti-technology extremists who will do whatever it takes to stop him.

However, in their attempt to destroy Will, they inadvertently become the catalyst for him to succeedto be a participant in his own transcendence. For his wife Evelyn (Rebecca Hall) and best friend Max Waters (Paul Bettany), both fellow researchers, the question is not if they canbut if they should.

Their worst fears are realized as Will's thirst for knowledge evolves into a seemingly omnipresent quest for power, to what end is unknown. The only thing that is becoming terrifyingly clear is there may be no way to stop him.

Alice In Wonderland 2 announced but no Tim Burton? Johnny Depp says 'yes'

Disney Studios has confirmed the obvious, a sequel to Alice in Wonderland.
I guess if your film pulls in over 1$ billion worldwide, this may merit a revisiting of the story.
It looks as if Johnny Depp will reprise his role as The Mad Hatter
However, for some reason, Tim Burton will not be directing the sequel, these duties will be taken over by James Bobin, more famously known for directing The Muppets.
