Game of Thrones actor Ed Skrein to star in 'Transporter' Reboot
Game of Thrones" star Ed Skrein will be succeeding Jason Statham in EuropaCorp's upcoming reboot of the "Transporter" franchise, reports Variety.
"We searched everywhere to find a fresh face who had the potential to become an action movie star and we've found the right match with Ed Skrein, who's not only a great actor but also has enough charisma and physical stamina to play Frank Martin with brio," EuropaCorp CEO Christophe Lambert said.
According to the trade, the first new movie will return to the French Riviera, which was the setting of the first Statham movie. The reboot will explore Martin's relationship with his father.
Brick Mansions helmer Camille Delamarre will direct from a script by Bill Collage and Adam Cooper. Luc Besson's EuropaCorp is producing the $30 million film with Mark Gaos Fundamental Films.
Filming is expected to begin in June.
